Dear Smithsonian,

Many thanks for your work.

You digitized some volumes of "Nouvelle Géographie universelle" of Reclus like nouvellegograph101recl.

But the 12th volume is still missing on archive.org : "Nouvelle Géographie universelle ; la terre et les hommes. XII, L'Afrique occidentale, archipels atlantiques, Sénégambie et Soudan occidental" (1887).

An another work of Reclus is still missing too : "L’Homme et la Terre" (6 volumes, 1905), we have only poor digitized copy (like Gallica) and incomplete.

Is it possible to hope a numerization of these works?

Many thank for your help.
Valérie

The Harvard copy digitized by Google.books.com seems to have the missing Tone 12 here:

Et Tu Brute orElse!

Miss Valérie,

In hopes to help I searched the title noted. With further inspections; given perhaps I may have the wrong book by the same title; it looks as if there are only 11 (not 12) parts of this book per the table of contents.

GÉOGRAPHIE DE L’EUROPE (Europe)
Tone1-L’EUROPE MÉRIDIONALE
Tone2-LA FRANCE
Tone3-L’EUROPE CENTRALE
Tone4-L’EUROPE DU NORD-OUEST
Tone5-L’EUROPE SCANDINAVE ET RUSSE

GÉOGRAPHIE DE L’ASIE (Asia)
Tone6- L’ASIE RUSSE
Tone7- L’ASIE ORIENTALE
Tone8- L’INDE ET L’INDO-CHINE
Tone9- L’ASIE ANTÉRIEURE

GÉOGRAPHIE DE L’AFRIQUE (Africa)
Tone10- L’AFRIQUE SEPTENTRIONALE (Part 1)
Tone11- L’AFRIQUE SEPTENTRIONALE (Part 2)
Fin (end of book contents title page)

Perhaps have another look by PDF? Google digitized the copy from the public library archives of New York here:

Dear Smithsonian,

Many thanks for your help but my query is very old (2014 !).

:)

Since, Gallica digitized all the serie :

Best regards !

Excellent! No matter how old the question; Thank you for sharing your link to benefit those with the same challenge in the future :-)

I am not really a person who can legally represent the smithsonian or archives.org. Just your average free account holder named ‘ElectricLynn’ who felt a need to smite a snarky unhelpful comment with a substantive answer to a valuable question others might have.

Most success to you and yours. Very interesting book indeed.
